ELISA Kits for Diagnosis of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) in Cattle and Buffaloes

Product Description

Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) Antibody Rapid Test Kit
(Whole Blood / Serum / Plasma / Milk)
🎯 Intended Use

The Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) Antibody Rapid Test Kit is a solid phase immunochromatographic assay for the rapid, qualitative, and differential detection of antibody to animal whole blood, serum, or plasma. This test provides only a preliminary analytical result. A secondary analytical method must be used to obtain a confirmed result.

🔬 Principle

This kit utilizes a double antigen sandwich method for the quantitative or qualitative detection of IBR antibodies. During detection, antibodies in the sample bind to colloidal gold-coated specific antigen fragments to form complexes. These complexes flow along the NC membrane to the T-zone, where immobilized antigens capture them, forming a visible red T-line. Unbound gold antibodies are captured in the C-zone, forming a red C-line as a procedural control.

Naked eyes interpretation for Qualitative Results; Quantitative Analysis available with machine.

📦 Storage and Stability
  • Store in a light-proof, dry environment (2-30°C).

⚙️ Test Procedure

Allow test cassette, specimen, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30°C) prior to testing.

1
Remove the test cassette from the sealed foil pouch and use it within one hour for best results.
2
Place the test device on a clean and level surface.
3
Add 100ul (3 drops) of sample into the sample well.
4
Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read results between 10-15 minutes. Invalid after 15 minutes.
📊 Interpretation of Results
NEGATIVE
Only C band is present.
POSITIVE
Both C and T bands develop.
INVALID
Control line (C) fails to appear.

*Insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for control line failure.

📈 Vaccine Antibody Level Analysis

Antibody positivity, uniformity, and titer are counted separately based on breed, litter size, and age.

Antibody Positivity Rate = (Positive Quantity / Total Quantity) * 100%

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What samples can be used for the IBR Antibody Test?

A: The kit is compatible with whole blood, serum, plasma, and milk samples.

Q2: How long does it take to get the results?

A: The assay takes between 10 to 15 minutes. Results should not be interpreted after 15 minutes.

Q3: What are the storage requirements for the test kits?

A: Kits should be stored in a dry, light-proof environment at room temperature (2-30°C). Do not freeze them.

Q4: What does a positive result indicate?

A: A positive result (both C and T lines present) indicates the detection of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis antibodies in the sample.

Q5: What should I do if the control line (C) does not appear?

A: If the C line fails to appear, the test is invalid. This may be due to insufficient specimen volume or incorrect technique. You should repeat the test with a new cassette.

Q6: What is the shelf life of the IBR Rapid Test Kit?

A: The kit has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly.
