NH3/CO2 Cascade Refrigeration System
The NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system is a marvel of engineering composed of two distinct stages: a high-temperature stage utilizing NH3 as the refrigerant, and a low-temperature stage using CO2. The ingenious design involves the evaporation of NH3 refrigerant in the high-temperature system to efficiently condense the CO2 refrigerant gas from the low-temperature system.


Heat load is expertly channeled through the end evaporator to the CO2 refrigerant. This absorbed heat is then seamlessly transferred to the high-temperature NH3 refrigerant through the condensing evaporator, which subsequently relinquishes the heat to the high-temperature condenser, efficiently dispersing it into the environment via the cooling medium.
